Intro:
When it comes to Malayalees in Qatar, Panoor is practically a household name. If there’s food, there’s Panoor. They’ve got endless options, taste that makes you dizzy (literally), and yet—we keep going back. Why? Because taste > logic.
But this time, I didn’t go there. Instead, I did what any lazy foodie would do: ordered through Talabat. And boy, did I get a surprise.
We went all in and ordered:
- Beef Varattiyath
- Chicken Korathi
- Chicken Kadai
- Fried Rice
- Chicken Hot & Sour Soup
Taste? As usual, amazing. No complaints there. But then came the mystery of the disappearing portions.
Poll 1:
Here’s the thing: when you eat at Panoor, plates overflow. When you order delivery, you get diet portions. Chicken Korathi was 20 QAR with about 6 tiny pieces. Not even enough for one hungry soul.
Seriously, at this point, I thought my food delivery guy ate half on the way.
Poll 2:
And before you ask:
Yes, the food was still tasty.
Yes, I’ll still order from Panoor again (don’t judge me).
But guys, come on… for the love of all spicy gravies, improve your delivery portions!
Poll 3:
If you’re someone who eats out often in Qatar, you know this isn’t just a Panoor problem. It’s almost an unwritten rule: dine-in plate is a mountain, delivery plate is a molehill.
Poll 4:
Final thoughts?
Panoor, your taste is unbeatable. Your portions? A tragic love story. Until then, I’ll continue eating there and complaining on the internet like a true Malayalee expat.
Poll 5:
Conclusion:
If you’re ordering Panoor through talabat or snoonu, brace yourself for portion shock. If you dine in, you’ll be full and happy. Either way, Panoor stays in our hearts (and arteries).
